For The Guys

For The Guys

Hello and welcome back to it's just paper by Lori.  I am so glad you stopped by!
For The Guys was a great class and Jenn gave several different ideas for the, very difficult at times, masculine cards.  I must admit, my stash of stamps is very feminine and florally (is that even a word) so that made this class project a little more difficult.  However, when I was going through my stamps, I ran across the Altenew Mod Vases stamp set and immediately looked at the shapes of the vases and thought...oooo...a necktie!  I hope y'all can see that too.

My plan was to use traditionally masculine ink colors and arrange the "tie" image in a simple pattern.  I used Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in the following colors: Charcoal Suit, Jet Black, Arctic Mountain and the yummy, Milk Chocolate.  The set I used for the sentiment was Build A Flower Cora Louise Peony.  My sentiment strip just seemed to get lost so I decided to use a technique from the previous class, Easy Ink Blending, and blended the sentiment strip using Milk Chocolate crisp dye ink  (it really does look like leather in person).  Even on a masculine card you have to have bling, right?!  So I used Nailheads metal stickers by Mark Richards on the sentiment strip.

I am very pleased with how this clean, simple and masculine card turned out.  Try to look for ways to use your stamps in different and unique ways!  Color plays an important role in the theme of your card, so use that in your favor.  I hope you enjoyed this card and encourage you look in your supplies and try to use them in a new/different way, and remember....it's just paper!
