All About Layering 1

I am so excited to have been accepted into the Altenew Educator Certification Program!
What a fun start...All About Layering 1.  This class consisted of 10 different lessons that go over all the different ways to layer Altenew's layering stamps and also shows how to turn those ideas into a beautiful card.   I was so inspired by the beauty in simplicity.  My card has a few different layers, but my main goal was to keep the beautiful bloom as the focus.  I used the Beautiful Day Stamp Set for this card (I use this set so much my tween daughter has even commented that I use that stamp set too much!)
So let's get into the details, shall we?!

I used Altenew Crisp Dye Inks for my projects (have I mentioned how much I LOVE their colors and that they take all the guess work out of what colors look best layered together?!)   I chose to use the following colors from the Red Cosmos set:  Frosty Pink, Coral Berry & Ruby Red.  For the leaves, I used Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades.  I stamped my bloom in Jet Black and stamped all the layers and die cut it out as well as one set of the leaves.  In the class, Nicole stated she was most comfortable using the solid stamp to start her image, whereas I feel more comfortable stamping the outline image first and then lining up the various layers.  I love that you can do it either way, figure out what works best for you!  The layering guide is super helpful with showing you the certain points that make lining the layers up perfectly (well, almost perfectly...I don't know about you, but I am not perfect, but I try!)

So in this photo, you can see the beautiful layers of this bloom!  I used foam tape to pop my bloom up to help make her remain the focus.  For the floral stem pieces, I did second generation stamping, using Jet Black to add interest, but not steal the show!   I think everything worked together well!  My next set of classes is All About Layering 2!  I am excited to see what Nicole has in store for us in those lessons!

Have a super day and get out those layering stamps and just try!  Altenew has made it super easy to line up their layering stamps. Have a blessed day, thanks for stopping by!
Remember, it's just paper!
