Easy Die Cutting Techniques

Easy Die Cutting Techniques

Hello and welcome to today's project for the Altenew Educator Certification Program, I am so happy you stopped by!  Well, as you could tell, this class was all about die cutting!  I thoroughly enjoy die cutting and loved this class.

I chose to share the negative die cutting technique.  Usually when die cutting we makers (love that term from Tim Holtz) use the positive cut piece for our cards, but with this technique, you use the negative (and of course, keep the positive, put it in your bit bin for a later use).

I kept this card very clean and simple.  When making this card, I used the Leaf Clusters Die Set from Altenew, using one of the leaf clusters and cutting them out twice.  I was torn on whether to ink blend the background or not, but decided to go with the Gold Foil cardstock as my background.  I love how it turned out.

I hope you give this technique a try and remember, it's just paper!
