All About Layering 2
All About Layering 2
Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today I will be sharing my take on the All About Layering 2 class. This was a great class full of techniques on how to layer Altenew's layering stamps. I really enjoyed the class as I love to work with layering stamps by Altenew. Here's a snippet of info, Altenew was my first exposure to layering stamps. Can you believe my first order with Altenew was January 2021 and let's just say, I have made up for lost time in my ordering! HeeHee...I digress...back to the goods. My very first layering stamp by Altenew, Peony Bouquet, was used for this card.
Don't you just love this flower? It is gorgeous!
In this class, Nicole used this stamp set and pointed out how helpful it is to use the big v space between petals to line this one up. She was so right. That made it even easier with the first and second layers.
For this top fold card, I chose the following colors for the layers of the peony bloom; Sea Glass, Ocean Waves and Dusk, all from the Cool Summer Night Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube set. Just look at those fabulous shades of blue! My inspiration for this card was actually the color blue used in the opening video for this class. You just never know where inspiration will come from! The beautiful foliage greens are Firefly and GrassField,
part of the Green Valley Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set.
For my outlines I used Jet Black Crisp Dye Ink.
So for the small 'branch' and berries I used a technique of stamping the initial 'branch' and then diecutting it out (along with my other images). I then placed it in my Misti and lined up the stamp. This just seemed like an easier way to line the berries up.
So below you will see that process.
After layering all the images it was time to put the card together. I stamped the hello darling sentiment from the Altenew Build a Flower Columbine Stamp Set on the strip of blue cardstock and then placed that in the Organic Linen Embossing Folder (seriously, Altenew does everything the best! Incredible embossing folders too!). I added some Altenew Satin White sequins to finish the card off.
I just love the Peony Bouquet Stamp set and how beautifully it layers.
I hope you have enjoyed this post and will give Altenew layering stamps a try, I know you can do it! Practice certainly makes perfect and remember in the end, it's just paper!
